One of our students, Rebecca, is 16, and from Italy. She describes herself: "I am a really sociable person and I like to have fun with my friends. I'm very determined, self-confident and ambitious, and so I hardly give up. I’m rarely sad. I always try to see the glass half full instead of half empty. I'm very active. I'm a volleyball player and I really love my sport. In general I'm pretty good at any sport, so I would like to try new things in the U.S. I love animals, and I have two dogs. My future dream is to become a teacher in kindergarden or in primary school. As a good Italian, I love cooking: I usually cook pasta with different sauces or cakes and will make some for you!"

A little bit about International Experience USA (iE-USA):

iE-USA is a non-profit student exchange organization that is approved by the US Department of State and fully listed with the Council on Standards for International Educational Travel.

Our students are between the ages 15-18, and originate from Germany, Spain, Austria, Italy, Thailand, and more. Our young adventurers need host families and a safe, caring environment while they attend an American high school for one or two semesters. Traditional and non-traditional families including retired couples, young couples, domestic partners, singles, multi-generational families, etc. are encouraged to apply as hosts.

Host families provide a private or a shared bedroom (with host sibling of the same gender) and three meals a day. Exchange students cover their own personal expenses and medical insurance.
