Some of the most caring and compassionate volunteers are those who have walked through a serious illness with a loved one. As a companion volunteer for our hospice patients, you will serve the emotional, spirtual and physical needs of our patients and their families.
Typical companion activities might include watching TV, playing games, reading, praying or sharing music. You might also provide a few hours of much needed respite care for a family member.
Our training program is designed to give our volunteers an insight into hospice philosophy, as well as give you tools to begin providing companionship to our patients. We provide all necessary training and screenings at no cost to the volunteers. Reliable transportation is desired. We offer flexible scheduling at nearby facilities and homes.
