Walk to End Alzheimer's Volunteer Opportunity - North Platte

ORGANIZATION: Alzheimer's Association Nebraska Chapter

Volunirvana (noun): A sublime state of being in which you forget you are volunteering to change lives because it is changing yours.

The Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's planning committee has room for a few more. This dedicated, inspiring and motivated crew is waiting for you to join them in building an event that Lincolnites have already come to love and would, likely, offer simultaneous high-jump high fives should they have the opportunity to see it grow.

The coolest part of joining the committee? (Besides knowing that you are helping the more than 33,000 Nebraskans currently living with Alzheimer's disease) Is joining a volunteer-driven health organization that WANTS your good ideas. Your charisma. Your skills. Sure there are resources to help build a successful event, from sponsorship to logistics to recruitment we have it all, but more importantly, the staff here at the Association will advocate for visions of this event brought forth by the committee. Our volunteers are celebrated for not only their dedication, but also, their ability to KNOW what their community wants and needs. This committee is more dedicated than ever to make this year a resounding success and they want you more than Uncle Sam.

Mission Statement

The Alzheimer's Association leads the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia -- by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.

Description

Since 1982, the Nebraska Chapter has provided education, information and support to individuals afflicted with Alzheimer's disease (AD) and other dementias.
