Michigan Blood is in great need of volunteer drivers in the Kalamazoo area! If you enjoy driving and are looking for an organization to give your time to, please consider us. As a Michigan Blood Volunteer Driver, you can expect training that would prepare you for picking up and transporting blood from one location to another. As a Volunteer Driver, you would drive a Michigan Blood vehicle and be issued a gas card for driving. If interested in helping with this position, or if you have any questions, please contact the Volunteer Services at 616-233-8523, or for more information about Michigan Blood visit www.miblood.org. Once you've applied, we will contact your references and complete a background check, check your vehicle record, then contact you to get you set up with a driver training orientation.

Founded in 1955, Michigan Blood is an independent, nonprofit blood bank that provides blood for 36 hospitals across Michigan’s Lower Peninsula. Serving Michigan hospitals is the top priority for Michigan Blood, which collects more than 120,000 blood donations each year at nine permanent donation sites and more than 3,700 mobile blood drives statewide. Related services available from Michigan Blood include a nationally recognized marrow program, therapeutic apheresis, DNA tissue-typing, transfusion medicine consultations, and Michigan’s first public cord blood bank. Michigan Blood is a member of America’s Blood Centers, a network of community blood banks spanning North America that together provide half the US blood supply.
