Mission Statement

IHERC is a non-profit public health research and advocacy organization. Our goal is to prevent distinguishable dangers and threats to our society through organized efforts and by helping government, individuals, and organizations make informed choices. To this end, our research covers a breadth of issues from disease, drowning prevention, and violence prevention to ultimately prolong life and promote health.

Description

Our most prominent and award-winning project is the Anti-Violence Day Project, a comprehensive violence prevention/intervention created to raise awareness about the threat to public safety posed by gun violence in the United States. This is done through public health data collection and research, with workshops and educational programs for children. Our aim is to reach children at an early age and educate them about the dangers of toy guns/toy weapons, violent video games, and violence in general to help curb the growth of what has become an acute and destructive culture of violence in our country.
