Assistants may participate in any of the following activitites: setting up displays, arranging merchandise and preparing orders of delivers. When volunteering as a warehouse assistant you will meet new people, see the latest merchandise TLD has to offer, learn about home repair tools and materials, and learn safety tips. You will also be able to support community revitalization, while diverting goods from the waste stream. Warehouse assistants may come during warehouse hours, Monday - Saturday 8-6 and Sunday from 10-4.

Our mission is twofold. We strive to increase the supply of decent, affordable housing for lower to moderate-income families by facilitating the reuse of materials that would otherwise be thrown away. At the same time we are saving precious environmental resources by taking reusable materials out of the waste stream.
Description
The Loading Dock, Inc. (TLD) is the nation's first successful, self-sufficient, nonprofit distributor of reusable building materials. Motivated by the prevalence of poor housing conditions coupled with waste in the building industry, the founders of TLD established the nonprofit reuse clearinghouse in 1984. Donated materials, sorted and stored in TLD's warehouse, are used in renovation and homeowner and rental property upkeep.
