ORGANIZATION: Heritage Frederick (The Historical Society of Frederick County)

What is a Docent? Docents are the educators of the museum and the face of the museum. Docents lead visitors on guide tours to explore the history of Frederick County. Anyone age 15 years or older is welcome to apply.

Must known about Frederick county history, must have stories to tell.

Hours?Shifts: Thursday Through Saturday 10-1pm & 1-4pm

Skills? Docents need to be able to speak to a group of visitors for all ages and backgrounds. Have a desire to learn history and educate others. Ability to walk and stand for at least an hour and climb our floating stairs.

The society collects and preserves artifacts and documents for study and education, and welcomes the participation of people of all ages in sharing informative and engaging experiences that will encourage them to discover and appreciate their heritage.

Description

The Historical Society of Frederick County operates the Museum of Frederick County History, the Roger Brooke Taney House and the Frederick County Archives and Research Center, and offers engaging educational programs and special events throughout the year.
