Volunteer for a 2 or 3 hour shift on any day that fits your schedule. No need to work the same shift every week, unless you want to. You can substitute for a regular volunteer who may be unable to work their shift. Training sessions (2) will be scheduled at your convenience. The bookstore is a fun and easy place to work/volunteer, especially if you love books.

Mission Statement

FLACL provides additional financial support to the Los Alamos County Libraries by running the on-site bookstore. We handle all the withdrawn books, CDs, DVDs and other material from the Libraries and all donations from our generous community.

The Friends' Bookstore is open every day, 7 days a week, the same as the Libraries. Besides dealing with the nicest people who love books, the volunteers also may handle between 200-400 donations (books, CDs, DVDs, puzzles, etc.) per day. We have 2 and 3 hour shifts throughout the day.
