Special Spaces Minneapolis is seeking a fun, passionate, and motivated volunteer to lead our Social Media strategy.
What to expect: Work alongside other chapter leads (Marketing, Events, Communications, Fundraising) during Happy Hour meetings downtown Mpls to develop strategies to meet chapter goals. Between meetings, make connections and follow-through on strategies. Engage other team members and volunteers as needed. Monitor progress throughout the year to ensure goals are being met.
This young organization needs to build a reputation in the Twin Cities metro in order to gain support to create dream bedrooms for children with life-threatening illnesses. Help us change children’s lives one bedroom at a time!
Responsibilities include:
- Creating Social Media strategy to support the chapter's goals, including identifying target audience and the appropriate channels to reach them
- Developing ways to connect with current and future supporters
- Overseeing execution of all strategies
- Monitoring performance and interaction across Social Media channels
- Experience in Social Media marketing
- Strong communication skills
- Strong organizational skills

Our mission is simple but zealous: to create dream bedrooms for children with life-threatening illnesses.
A bedroom to most kids is a personal space, a place that represents his or her unique personality. For a child with a critical illness who spends a lot of time at home in his or her room, that room should be a very special space. This is a place only the child can dream or imagine while addressing their medical needs. We are a national non-profit 501 C (3) organization founded for the development and construction of these Special Spaces.Description
Changing children's lives one bedroom at a time!
Special Spaces creates dream bedrooms for children with life-threatening illnesses. Once we receive a referral from the Children’s Hospital of Minnesota-Minneapolis, Special Spaces interviews the child to gain an understanding of his or her favorite colors, themes, and wishes. Donations from individuals, corporations, and community groups fund each child's room. These groups, if willing, can also provide a team of volunteers to help with the decorating and completion of the child's room.
Special Spaces designs the dream bedroom and secures all furniture, decor, and makeover supplies. On makeover day, the selected family leaves the home and the Special Spaces volunteers transform the child’s bedroom into their dream space.
