Opera NOVA , a 501 (c)(3) all-volunteer non-profit organization, is looking for volunteers who enjoy going out and meeting people and businesses to raise funds for the coming children's opera performances in March and June of 2018. Fundraisers would receive information on local companies and businesses as well as go onto the web and seek out businesses and go to them and meet with them to raise donations of amounts of $250 and $300. We are seeking confident and creative individuals to bring local businesses into the Opera NOVA community.
Qualifications:
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in MS Office especially Excel and Word
Responsibilities:
Identify and pursue fundraising opportunities for Opera NOVA.
Raise awareness about our organization and corresponding events in the local community
Leverage connections with with local businesses, community groups, and other individuals
Assist with fundraising efforts

Description
Opera NOVA was founded in 1992 as a volunteer-based, non-profit charitable organization to bring the joy of opera to the local community and develop regional support for the performing arts by fostering an appreciation for local theater across generations.
The Guild is incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia and has been recognized by the IRS as a 501 (c) (3) entity.
Over the years, Opera NOVA has offered major financial support for an annual family opera that is attended by school children during week day performances and by children with their families and community-based organizations on weekends. Because of our efforts, 50,000 school-aged children, many of whom would not have the opportunity otherwise, have attended an opera. The performances not only offer children a unique opportunity to hear an opera sung in English, but they also learn about various opera and theatre techniques, from special effects to the intricacies of set and lighting design.
