Join our dedicated team of plant-enthusiasts in our renowned Texas Discovery Gardens Greenhouse! Throughout the year, our volunteers propagate and care for 600+ varieties of native and adapted pollinator-friendly plants, many of which can't be found in local nurseries. Tasks can include: propagation, seed collection, weeding, trimming, and greenhouse organization. No experience is required - simply an eagerness to learn and play in the dirt! Volunteer opportunities are available weekday mornings and we could use your help all year round!

About Texas Discovery Gardens

Location:

3601 Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard, Dallas, TX 75210, US

Mission Statement

Texas Discovery Gardens is where children and adults discover and learn to sustain the natural world. Our vision is to provide a safe and natural oasis to our Dallas community. We want every visitor to leave with the knowledge and desire to emulate our sustainable practices at home!

Description

Texas Discovery Gardens is a 501(c)(3) organization. Our 7.5 acre organic garden features native and adapted plants. Inside, our two-story Rosine Smith Sammons Butterfly House and Insectarium transports you to a tropical rainforest, complete with hundreds of free-flying tropical butterflies!

Located in Dallas' historic Fair Park, Texas Discovery Gardens is a year-round organically maintained urban oasis filled with natural wonders. Family festivals, workshops, free admission days, and our extensive (and growing) EarthKeepers(r) student education program introduce children and adults to natural outdoor learning experiences.

We are the first public garden in the state of Texas to be certified 100% organic by the Texas Organic Research Center. The gardens are maintained using sustainable methods that conserve water and help to protect the environment.
