Purpose: To serve patient and aid staff by doing functions which free staff to perform more skilled tasks.
Primary Duties:
- assist families/patients/visitors with initial entrance to hospital by providing information and directions. Receive numerous inquiries ranging from looking up patient room numbers, directing visitor to specific areas in the hospital, etc.
- receive flowers from local florists
- assist with general information and communications
- provide hostess courtesies
- interacts closely with the service volunteer
Other Duties:
- Deliver flowers, patient dietary trays, patient mail, employee/staff/physician inter-office routing envelopes, lab specimens
- perform general messenger service
- provide hostess courtesies
- provide patients escort services
- communication between admissions, PBX, and ASU
- direct patients/visitors
- communicate to families in ASU waiting room
- interact closely with the information desk greeter

Join other Butler County RSVP members in providing volunteer services that contribute to a better quality of life for our entire community! RSVP provides opportunities for people 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers contribute as many hours as they chose, serving through RSVP projects sites and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of older Americans with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental insurance while on duty, pre-service orientation, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
