Looking for a practical way to make a difference in the community and help others achive their goal? Here is an opportunity to help an adult who would like to pass their High School Equivalency Test.
HSE (High School Equivalency) tutors assist instructors by providing one-on-one tutoring in adult basic education, math, reading, writing, science, and social studies to students who like to gain additional necessary skills to successfully pass thier test!

Mission Statement
LearningQuest -- Stanislaus Literacy Centers is a volunteer non-profit organization that provides basic literacy skills and English as a Second Language opportunities for adults in the workforce and in our community.
Description
LearningQuest -- Stanislaus Literacy Centers helps adults who lack basic reading, writing and math skills. We do this through a reading and GED lab in a one-stop job training center, we do it through one-on-one and group tutoring and we do it through classes. We also have a program in the county jail system that provides GED tutoring and literacy tutoring for incarcerated adults. Our most recent addition is the family literacy program which operates out of two schools in our county -- Wakefield Elementary and Chrysler Elementary schools. We have a new program which is located at the Samaritan House Shelter for women and children. These family literacy programs provide the adults with tutoring plus family literacy activities and activities for the children while the parents are tutored. There are several books given to the family during the course of the program.
