Greenheart Travel's volunteer program in Vietnam works to bring care, love and happiness to young people in two centers located in Hanoi. Here, children suffering from the effects of Agent Orange, Autism, Down Syndrome, and Japanese Encephalitis can receive care and education to help them integrate into society.
Volunteering activities:- Assist local staff in playing with children and entertaining/educating them with games, music and arts when required
- Help with fundraising
- Collect useful information and documents from different sources
- Organize charity campaigns for books, clothes and shoes for the children
- Assist with the edible gardening project
- Accommodations in a volunteer guesthouse
- Daily meals
- Culture and Etiquette guide book
- Medical/Accident insurance
- 24-hour emergency support
- Pre-departure and arrival orientations
- Personal assistance from a Greenheart Travel program manager
- Certificate of Completion upon request
Greenheart Travel also donates a portion of your fee to offset the carbon footprint of your travels.
Start dates are on a monthly basis. Application due 8 weeks prior to requested start date.
Requirements to volunteer abroad in Vietnam:In researching a volunteer abroad program, you have already shown you are a leader and open-minded. These are just a few of the traits that our volunteers possess. You’re motivated to immerse yourself in another culture and flexible enough to live outside your comfort zone. You should also:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Consent to criminal background check (Greenheart Travel will process this for you)
- Be in good mental and physical health
- Early childhood education background and/or teaching experience is helpful, but not required
