Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported 1-to-1 relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.

Description

Big Brothers Big Sisters ( BBBS ) makes an impact by strengthening positive relationships for our kids, helping them improve their academic success, and supporting them in reducing risky behaviors such as violence and substance abuse. BBBS has been helping children reach their potential through professionally supported one-to-one relationships with measurable impact. BBBS provides successful mentoring relationships that contribute to better schools, brighter futures, and stronger communities for all.

When matched with an adult volunteer, children begin to gain self-confidence, acquire new skills and competencies, and develop an enhanced capacity to care for others. Volunteers experience a sense of discovery and enjoyment as they see a world of possibilities open up.
