Hospice by the Bay

**Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Hospice by the Bay. Unfortunately, due to the current coronavirus pandemic, our 2020 volunteer trainings have been cancelled until further notice. Presently, our current volunteers are not making in-person visits to our patient/families and it is uncertain as to when that will change. Meanwhile, we still invite you to inquire about volunteering or apply as a volunteer on our agency website below. We will contact you directly. **

As a Complementary Care Volunteer for Hospice by the Bay, you’ll be making a significant difference for someone facing end-of-life challenges. Utilize your therapeutic skills to improve the quality of life for our patients by performing:

  • Reiki
  • Therapeutic/healing touch
  • Acupressure

In addition to becoming a member of our team, as a Complementary Care volunteer you will receive in depth training on how to prepare for working with patients and families.

Hospice by the Bay was founded by dedicated volunteers more than 40 years ago. We sincerely hope that you’ll consider joining our team!

About Hospice by the Bay

17 E. Sir Francis Drake Blvd., Suite 100, Larkspur, CA 94939, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to be the premiere provider of palliative and hospice services for patients and their caregivers needing care and support during the final stages of life. We are dedicated to promoting wellness at the end of life, as well as preventing and treating distressing symptoms or conditions that might otherwise threaten the quality of life for our patients and families. We compassionately provide quality services, sensitive to the values, interests, capabilities and needs of those we serve, in a cost-effective manner and in a variety of settings.

What makes Hospice by the Bay unique! It was founded by volunteers as a non-profit, end-of-life healthcare provider in 1975. It was created by the community to serve the community. As the second oldest hospice in the U.S., Hospice By The Bay has the depth of experience to understand the medical, practical, emotional and spiritual care patients and their families need during the end of life experience. From its grassroots foundation by community volunteers (then named Hospice of Marin), Hospice By The Bay remains at the vanguard of the hospice industry and a premier, regional provider of end-of-life care.
