Description

Promoting Achievement, Engaging Community

About Our Programs

The Asheville City Schools Foundation is dedicated to mobilizing the entire community to support student success. Here’s how we’re accomplishing our mission... Teacher led classroom and school-wide grants connect individuals, civic groups, and businesses with teacher projects that are aligned with donor interests and values. Large and small these projects bring the curriculum to life.

Retaining and Training Excellent Teachers Grants are awarded each year so that excellent teachers can enhance their impact and effectiveness in the classroom and emerge as leaders in their schools.

Community partnerships include the Listening to Our Teens Network, Families and Communities Enriching Students, Ribbon of Hope and Asheville Learning Links (VISTA).

Our Volunteer Outreach and Training Program engages community members in our students’ achievement and our schools’ success. We recruit dedicated and caring community members to invest their time and energy in ACS and our students by fulfilling a wide-variety of meaningful volunteer roles. We provide quality training to volunteers to enhance their positive impact.

Counselors/social workers access our Emergency Assistance funds to address needs that prevent students from attending school.

More than 40 students per year receive College Scholarships from ACSF. Scholarships are funded by individuals, businesses and civic groups.
