Arlington Academy of Hope (AAH) seeks a social media volunteer who will update the Wordpress website, add pictures and info on unsponsored children, blog postss, annual reports, buttons for our credentials, etc, Also post on facebook, twitter, and instagram. AAH is a U.S. nonprofit organization providing top quality education and health care in rural Uganda, and also supporting women's microfinance.

The organization relies on donations to accomplish its work, so social media focused on fundraising is necessary to educate more people about AAH, and inspire them to contribute to the organization as volunteers or as donors. AAH offers opportunities to volunteer at the school, as well as to make donations and to sponsor individual children for the duration of their education.

Duties

Manage day-to-day activities and presence in social networking sites; posting on relevant blogs; and seeding content into social applications as needed through online advocacy writing editorials, community-outreach efforts, promotions, etc.

Requirements

• Must have an interest in education and/or international development
• Strong knowledge and experience using social media platforms (Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, Flickr, etc.) and how they can be deployed in different scenarios
• Experience in public relations, marketing, and/or community management is a plus

There is an immediate need to update the Wordpress website. Experience with wordpress a must. This position will likely require 2-4 hours per week, including updates and activity performed offsite.
