Opera NOVA , a 501 (c) (3) all-volunteer non-profit organization, needs at least six (6) Grant Writers to help raise funds for our productions. Most of the funding we get to pay the costs of our productions come from major grantors (including governments, corporations, foundations, and other non-profit organizations). We have recently found many organizations that offer grants to apply for, and we need help in completing them as they are due in the next couple of months. Also, we always look for new organizations to apply to for grants as well as to expand our grantor base.

You will be trained by staff that is knowledgeable in grant writing and fundraising. This would be a good opportunity for college students or graduate students or for any adult with extra time. If you are interested in working in this vital area, please let us know. Residents of Arlington, VA, the greater Northern Virginia area, DC and Maryland are welcome to apply.

Opera NOVA is dedicated to making opera accessible and affordable for all residents of Arlington County, VA and the Northern Virginia area. About Opera NOVA

Mission Statement

Opera NOVA works to bring the joy of opera to the local community and develop regional support for the performing arts by fostering an appreciation for local theater across generations.

Description

Opera NOVA was founded in 1992 as a volunteer-based, non-profit charitable organization to bring the joy of opera to the local community and develop regional support for the performing arts by fostering an appreciation for local theater across generations.

The Guild is incorporated in the Commonwealth of Virginia and has been recognized by the IRS as a 501 (c) (3) entity.

Over the years, Opera NOVA has offered major financial support for an annual family opera that is attended by school children during week day performances and by children with their families and community-based organizations on weekends. Because of our efforts, 50,000 school-aged children, many of whom would not have the opportunity otherwise, have attended an opera. The performances not only offer children a unique opportunity to hear an opera sung in English, but they also learn about various opera and theatre techniques, from special effects to the intricacies of set and lighting design.
