Family ACCESS of Newton (formerly The Newton Community Service Center) serves children from 3 months to pre-K and their families. We are seeking part-time Receptionist(s)/Greeter(s) for 6-9 hours weekly (3 hours/day) to welcome guests and answer/direct phone calls. There will also be opportunities to perform data entry, file, copy and assist with special agency wide projects. Or feel free to bring quiet projects from home like knitting. We are conveniently located near the West Newton Cinema and offer a friendly, casual environment with very flexible weekday hours.

Family ACCESS (formerly The Newton Community Service Center) strengthens families and the community in Newton, Waltham and surrounding areas by providing programs that support healthy child development, enable parents to balance work and family life, promote effective parenting and encourage volunteerism. The agency actively engages a racially, economically and culturally diverse population.

Description

Since 1907, Family ACCESS has served the diverse needs of children and families from Newton, Waltham, and surrounding communities with educational programs and a network of support services.

Our four distinct, well-integrated program areas include:

  • Early educational and child care
  • Family counseling, education and support
  • Child abuse prevention
  • Volunteer service opportunities for adults 55+
We have developed an ability to foster the type of nurturing parent/child and teacher/student relationships that enhance childhood development. For more than twenty years, we have also conducted educational programs that focus on children's personal safety. Through our SOAR 55 program, we engage and train older adults to provide our community with valuable volunteer services.

Family ACCESS programs, led by passionate prfessionals produce these outcomes;
