HALCYON HOSPICE is seeking caring, compassionate individuals to provide companionship, a listening ear, a friendly face, art, music, or just relief for a family member for a few hours a month. Most of our volunteers came to give a blessing of their time to people seeking to live the remainder of their days in comfort and dignity; however, most agree that they were the ones who were blessed by the individuals they came to serve. All volunteers receive free training and, to safeguard patients and volunteers, background checks, drug testing and health screeing is required by the Department of Health.

A statement from our Executive in charge :

We do well to remember that we exist to meet the needs of those we are privileged to serve. When we do this without fail, with smiles on our faces, and with genuine compassion and concern for those we serve, we make a small payment against the debt of gratitude we owe to each community that we are privileged to be part of.

"To change the world we must be good to those who cannot repay us"

Pope Francis

Mission Statement

When someone you love is living with a terminal illness, quality of life matters more than ever. Hospice care is NOT limited to the last few days of a patient's life. Many hospice patients live well beyond the 6-month diagnosis. We deliver physical, emotional, social, and spiritual support to our patients and their family members throughout the final stages of illness. At Halcyon Hospice, caring for the terminally ill is a labor of love that requires a special person with just the right touch. If you have a passion for helping others, consider becoming a hospice volunteer. YOU can make a profound difference in the lives of patients and their loved ones.

Description

Halcyon Hospice provides in-home care for people with life limiting illnesses. We also strive to provide a positive, supportive environment for their families as well. We believe that hospice is a gift and this time in the life of a family can be an opportunity for spiritual and emotional bonding.
