Hills & Dales is dedicated to building meaningful lives for individuals with disabilities by offering services that support the whole person and enhance community inclusion.
Hills & Dales was founded in 1973 by Elaine Barwick to care for her son who had significant disabilities. The organization currently serves and supports individuals from 17 counties throughout Eastern Iowa. Services occur at our Residential Center, in an individual's home, or at the Hills & Dales Community Center.
Hills & Dales Programs and Services:
-Residential services with 24-hour nursing care
-Vocational/paid work program for adults
-Community-based services which include; Respite, Supported Community Living, hourly support in apartments, Group Respite, and Summer Day Camp
-Day Habilitation to enhance daily life skills (grocery shopping, volunteering, etc.)
-Autism programs
-Inclusive Childcare Center and preschool
-LifeTime Program and congregate meals for senior citizens
-Therapy Programs which include; music therapy, pet therapy, etc.
-Intergenerational programs for people of all ages and abilities
