Tours in the Lincoln-Tallman House
Holiday tours in the basement of the house.

Help the Rock County Historical Society to welcome guests to the historic Lincoln - Tallman House, an 1850s mansion located in beautiful downtown Janesville. Volunteers lead small groups on tours through the house, giving them information about the Tallman family, the house itself, as well as its most famous visitor, Abraham Lincoln.

Thousands of visitors have enjoyed the Society’s most popular program, tours of the award-winning Lincoln-Tallman House Museum, since 1951. For the first time in the Society’s history, multiple tours are being offered, each telling a personal, specific story of the house’s special history. Adults, children, and students alike are welcome. This historic tour provides both education and entertainment to all who experience the Tallman house.

Our tour season starts in April, when we offer tours to local schools. In June, we open for tours to the public, and we are open until December.

Each spring, there is a large training offered to all volunteers, in addition to on-going trainings through out our open season.
