Want to help make your community healthier? Volunteer to be a fitness instructor for Shape Up NYC! Shape Up organizes free fitness classes across New York City, particularly in neighborhoods with high rates of obesity and diabetes.
We are looking for a dedicated fitness instructors to teach a Yoga class in Queens. Volunteers must be certified in yoga/group fitness and, once accepted, will have the opportunity to shadow a current instructor before leading their own classes.

The mission of the NYC Parks’ Recreation Division and Shape Up NYC is to enable all New Yorkers to lead physically active lives through sports, fitness, and outdoor adventure.
Description
Shape Up NYC is a free citywide fitness program launched in June of 2004 through a partnership between the New York City Parks Department and the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOH) that targets neighborhoods with high rates of obesity and obesity-related disease.
Thanks to new partnerships with Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield and NYC Service, Shape Up NYC has embarked on a major expansion since 2010, and now offers more than 300 free fitness classes every week at 175 locations across the five boroughs, including parks, recreation centers, housing and health facilities, schools and community centers.
