Western Youth Services (WYS) is a nonprofit mental health agency with over 40 years of experience in providing counseling, therapy, and other services which help the most vulnerable children, youth, and their families overcome mental health challenges.

Our WYS Mission Viejo clinic is seeking a dedicated, reliable, and long-term administrative volunteer who can help with:

  • Outreach calls - calling Cal Optima providers, calling parents,
  • Opening, sorting, faxing, filing, and processing mail
  • Simple data entry/ word processing; photocopying
  • Reception backup' lobby assistance; setting appointment/ reminder calls; answering phones; pulling charts each morning

Application Requirements:

All volunteers must complete an application and other documents, be oriented to WYS policies, complete a live scan (fingerprinting), and sign a Confidentiality Agreement form prior to volunteering. We are flexible and will work with the volunteer's hours. Please note that volunteer positions are unpaid.

WYS promotes community partnerships in the planning, development and implementation of its programs.

Description

Western Youth Services (WYS), founded in 1972, is a community-based non-profit agency that provides prevention and mental health treatment services for troubled youth and their families. WYS programs include children's mental health clinics throughout Orange County; services in Family Resource Centers in Anaheim, Brea, Fullerton, La Habra, Orange, Westminster and Huntington Beach; and counseling and crisis intervention services for the Orangewood Children's Home, a facility that cares for abused and neglected children. In public-private partnership with the Orange County Health Care Agency and local School Districts, WYS also provides services on-site in public schools throughout the County. WYS employs nearly 200 staff, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, family counselors, and support personnel. It also serves as a training site for clinical interns. A volunteer Board of Directors comprised of professionals from business, human services, health care, and education governs the agency.
