Are you detail-oriented and love organizing? You can help us by asserting your organizational creativity as we create and implement a storage plan for our donations. Your assistance will have a lasting impact on our organization and the refugee families who benefit from the items donated to us.
The Donations Organizer:
(1) Helps brainstorm an efficient and affordable plan for storage and donated items;
(2) Works directly with the Volunteer Coordinator and other Donations Organizers to organize donated and stored items;
(3) Assists in planning for management of space;
(4) Regularly maintains and itemizes donated items;
(5) Transports unusable items to responsibly dispose of.

Mission Statement
The Ethiopian Community Association of Chicago (ECAC) is a non-profit, charitable organization committed to serving the cultural, psychological and socio-economic needs of refugees and immigrants in and around metropolitan Chicago. In addition to assisting native Ethiopians, the ECAC supports all African, Asian, Middle Eastern and Eastern European refugee populations who seek its services. Established in 1984, ECAC assists in the promotion of personal growth, financial stability, positive family and community relations, and community empowerment. The adjustment and development of all of ECAC’s constituents is facilitated with programs in the areas of advocacy, education, employment, healthcare and community outreach.
Description
ECAC activities include: Refugee Reception & Placement; Employment Services; Match Grant (MG) program; Child and Youth Development; English as a Second Language (ESL); and Preferred Communities (PC) program; Citizenship and Immigration Services.
