Are you comfortable with horses? We need people who can lead a horse carrying a handicapped rider at the walk or to walk around an arena alongside the rider to protect and help clients guide the horse. Riders are needed to exercise the ponies between lessons. Lessons are every weekend and after school hours. Once a volunteer is partnered with a client, the volunteer needs to be there every week for six weeks. Can you make this your Saturday or Sunday priority? Volunteer registration forms are available on the website: http://www.dreamriderequestriantherapy.com. Please call Catherine Hand. We currently need handy volunteers for Saturday and Sunday morning when we are working with two special needs children. Please Call, Catherine Hand at 619-445-2576 or email Catherineh@prodigy.net.

Description
We conduct individual riding lessons on ponies and need trained volunteers for leading and side walking to protect the physically or emotionally impaired clients. Volunteers must be available for six lessons in six weeks. Please contact us if your schedule allows for your consistent participation since scheduling depends on volunteer presence. All volunteer training is provided in advance of engaging in lessons for impaired clients. Please go to the website: http://www.dreamriderwwquestriantherapy.com and download the volunteer packet, which contains required information for us to insure you when you participate.
We also need competent horse trainers and riders to condition our therapy ponies.
If your talent is in community outreach, grant writing or fund raising and you cannot regularly assist in lessons, help is needed in outreach as well to sustain and promote the program.
