ORGANIZATION: Heartland Hospice of Augusta

We at Heartland have one belief that we hold above all others; that no one should have to die alone. To that end, we have developed the Vigil Volunteer program to provide emotional support and comfort at the bedside of a imminently passing patient. By serving as a vigil volunteer, you agree to be contacted in a time of need (whenever that may be) and if you are available, you would go serve. Our Vigil Volunteers may share music, prayer, or simply their presence. The patient may be alone or may have a single family member at their bedside who may need someone they can talk to or tell stories with to help get them through a tough time. If you have a kind heart and the will to do good, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator at 706-860-7374. Be a main character in the last chapter of someone's lifestory!
