Mission Statement
The mission of MetroWest Mediation Services is to provide mediation as an early intervention method for resolving disputes, reducing violence and increasing the safety and well-being of MetroWest residents.
Description
MetroWest Mediation Services (MWMS) provides specially trained volunteer mediators for the Concord, Framingham, Natick and Marlboro District Courts, the Middlesex Juvenile Court and the Middlesex Probate & Family Court. The volunteers help MetroWest residents resolve their disputes in a safe, respectful and effective manner through a structured mediation process. The volunteers are neutral third parties trained according to the requirements of the Massachusetts Uniform Rules of Dispute Resolution.
Specially trained volunteer mediators help parties outside of court mediate divorce, family, custody, elder care, neighborhood, business, landlord tenant and consumer issues as an alternative to court proceedings.
No one is ever turned away from MWMS for inability to pay. Most services are free or charged on a sliding fee scale according to the parties' income.
