Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Inland Northwest Nature Connection

Raptor Care Volunteers are responsible for all aspects of the day to day care of the West Valley Outdoor Learning Center raptor/birds of prey. The primary duties include feeding and habitat cleaning for 5 raptors. We are seeking volunteers who would work 1 day during the week; specific time (typically between 8am-4pm) is up to the volunteer. Time required to do the care is dependent on volunteer but once trained will typically take 2- 2.5 hours. However we will work with your schedule. Volunteers in this position should be comfortable preparing and working with raptor food sources consisting of mice and quail. Training is provided and prior experience is not required for feeding and cleaning responsibilities. Handling of birds requires more extensive training which would be provided for interested volunteers. Raptor handlers may also act as docents at open houses and other community outreach opportunities.
