ORGANIZATION: Remita Health

  • 5 people are interested

Our volunteers provide emotional support to hospice patients and their families whether it’s by reminiscing, playing cards or looking at photos.

Benefits include:

  • Enhancing a volunteer’s sense of self-worth by befriending someone with great wisdom but a limited opportunity to share it.
  • Giving the volunteer the opportunity to practice important skills used in the workplace, such as teamwork, communication, problem solving, project planning, task management, and organization.
  • Meeting new people and gaining a different perspective on life

We can't wait to meet you!

Please contact Manuela Elsayan, Volunteer Coordinator at 818-559-1550 or melsayan@healthessentials.com

About Remita Health

Location:

700 N. Central Suite 550, Glendale, CA 91203, US

Mission Statement

Remita Health delivers compassionate patient-centered care with excellence and dignity.

Description

Remita Health volunteers are specially-trained individuals with a heart for terminally-ill patients and their family members. These volunteers are an invaluable and essential part of the interdisciplinary team, and we are always looking for compassionate people to becoming volunteers!

Our program is broken down into several sub-programs to best meet the needs of the patients and families all over the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, San Gabriel Valley and Los Angeles areas. To volunteer with Remita Health, the most important thing our volunteers need to possess is a desire to help with care and compassion. Volunteers should be great listeners, have a strong comfort with death and the dying process, and able to document work clearly and concisely.
