Make a difference in the lives of children by helping with the after school program in Franklin from 3-5 p.m. at least one day per week. Kids have shown improved report cards after being helped in the after-school program.
The kids arrive after school and first have a physical activity, then sit down and do homework. This is followed by a snack, then either more homework or a craft. Hopefully volunteers would be willing to help the staff with all of these activities. Sometimes the snack is the only supper some of these kids get. Most don't get help with their homework. But we'll work with whatever help you are able to provide.
You'll have to go through the process of getting some required clearances before you can start volunteering with this program.

The Senior Volunteer Program of Venango County provides opportunities for people age 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. SVP of Venango County volunteers contribute anywhere from a few to many hours a week, helping to make Venango County a great place to live!
