Help us feed homebound seniors

We need volunteers for the Meals on WheelsDelivery program. The MOW program takes place during the lunch hour Monday-Friday. Volunteers will pick up the meals anytime between 11:00AM-11:45AM at our distribution site (3625 Eastex Freeway). The entire FAST experience should take no more than 1 hour.

To participate in the MOW program each volunteer driver must be trained. The training will be on Thursdays (unless otherwise specified) from 12PM-1PM at the distribution site location. Training will be given by a Meals on Wheels Program Coordinator. Volunteers are also asked to provide two of their own 50-60 quart coolers (2 needed) for easy delivery of hot and cold meals.

To volunteer please contact Volunteer Services at 713-533-4900 to schedule a training date and delivery date. We invite you to make a difference in the lives of Houston’s homebound seniors.

Description

For more than 30 years IM has provided basic services to Houston's diverse ethnic and religious communities. Over time we have discovered that by working together, we can develop new relationships and friendships with people who are very different from us, yet share common goals and hopes. We like to say that "The Strength of Shared Beliefs" is the thread that binds and motivates us. IM has 116 employees, over 2500 ongoing and episodic volunteers, and serves over 10,000 people.
