Heritage Hospice Patient Care Volunteer:
Hospice provides care and comfort to people who are terminally ill and provides support to their families, friends, loved ones and caregivers. As a Heritage Hospice Volunteer, you can help in many ways:
- Volunteers provide companionship to patients through conversation, reading, letter writing, music appreciation, movie/TV watching, walking or sitting outside to get some fresh air, and all sorts of hobby sharing.
- Volunteers provide respite to family caregivers, so they may take a break from their care giving duties for couple hours.
- Hours are flexible; many long-term care facilities have visiting hours of 9a-8p, 7 days a week!
- Patients with whom one might visit are located throughout Tarrant County/Fort Worth & Denton.

Heritage Hospice of Texas provides in-home and in-facility palliative care of patients with a terminal diagnosis . Our volunteers are specially trained in Hospice, and are important elements of the team who are available to visit patients in homes and within local long-term care facilities.
