Kindred Hospice allows volunteers to choose the type of volunteer role that meets their needs, and gives them the opportunity to use their training and talents to enrich the lives of our patients and their families in many different ways. Typical volunteer roles include:
- Administrative- organizing files, answering phones, making copies
- Direct Patient Support- providing companionship for the patient, such as reading, journaling, helping with hobbies, and relieving family members and friends
- Bereavement Support - assist with mailings and phone calls to bereaved families
- Professional Volunteers- offering expert services such as pet therapy, hairstyling, music

Our hospice volunteers have many reasons for giving their time. Some are looking for a fulfilling way to develop and grow personally. Others have been helped by hospice in their families and want to give back. Still others simply want to help improve the lives of members in their community.
