Foundation Communities is an Austin nonprofit committed to providing long term affordable housing and on-site supportive services to low-income families and individuals. As an organization we are committed to providing more than just a roof over someone’s head and Welcome Home Baskets is a wonderful way to do so!
About Welcome Home Baskets
Often we have formerly homeless families or individuals moving into Foundation Communities apartments with little more than the clothes on their back. This is a great on-going group service project that provides the basic house hold items necessary to turn an empty apartment into a home AND it doesn't require a lot of time!
Financial Commitment - Your group is responsible for purchasing items, assembling, and delivering baskets to your chosen property over a certain time period. We can provide you with a generic supply list to assist you. Expect to spend ~$100/basket.
Time Commitment - We are seeking Welcome Home Basket Sponsors who can commit to assembling baskets as needed for one property for a 6 month to 1 year time period. If you cannot commit to this time period, we could still use your time and kindness and accept baskets on a one-time basis.

We own and operate 25 communities all over Austin and in North Texas.
