Volunteers are needed for Fall 2018! We have two more new volunteer orientations this fall. One one September 26 and the other on October 11. Join us!
Foundation Communities is a local non-profit providing first class, affordable homes and support services for thousands of low-income families and individuals, empowering them with the tools they need to succeed.
About our Learning Center volunteer program: We have 10 Learning Centers around Austin. Volunteer shifts are generally set up from around 3:30-6:00 pm Monday through Thursday during the fall and spring semester. During the summer, our after school programs turn into day camps, which run from around 10am - 3pm. Learning Center volunteers provide general classroom support, help with homework assistance, and assist with enrichment activities based on the need of the learning center. If you have a specific passion or talent that you would like to share with the students please talk directly with your learning center coordinator; they are always looking for people to lead enrichment activities with the kids.
Time Commitment: We ask volunteers to make a commitment to serve a minimum of one shift per week (1-3 hours) for a semester at a time - you choose the day, time, and learning center location that works best for your schedule!
