At Heartland, we depend on volunteers to provide the extra love and care our families need at this challenging time in their life. We invite you to consider becoming a hospice volunteer.
Volunteers serve patients and families in a wide variety of roles. Volunteer can offer companionship to patients in facilities, relief sitting to families caring for their loved one at home, sit bedside vigil with an imminently dying patient, provide a listening ear to bereaved, or offer an idea or suggestion based on your interests and skills. We appreciate and can utilize new ideas!
Volunteers need to be 18 years of age to visit patients with no criminal background and be willing to participate in a 14 hour training course.
Our next scheduled group training is September 24 and 26. Must attend both sessions. We offer an afternoon and an evening session. The remainder of the training can be done in your spare time. Training takes place at our business office in the Nora area, but volunteer opportunities are available on all sides of town. We serve most of Central Indiana.
For more information or to register for orientation and training, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Dana Criss, at 317-251-3012.
