Volunteers are needed in Alameda, Contra Costa and San Joaquin counties to spend time with persons in the last phases of incurable disease so that they may live as fully and comfortably as possible. Volunteers are placed with patients in their own general area. They may sit and chat with patients, play cards, read to them, write letters for them or share interests. Such simple activities can provide much-needed social stimulation and valuable respite for caregivers and family memberrs. Touching a life, easing someone's pain, the personal fulfillment of knowing you made a difference--can be life changing.
Volunteer Opportunities Include but are NOT Limited to:
Working directly with patients and their families,
Providing administrative support in our Dublin office,
utilizing alternative methods of therapy including: Reiki, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, and Pet Therapy, and assisting with crafts.
