Hospice Volunteers Needed in Alameda County

Volunteers are needed in Alameda and Contra Costa counties to help patients who are nearing the end of life. Patients have a variety of needs that can be filled by caring volunteers. Some patients have little or no support and are in need of companionship. Volunteer visits may include sitting and chatting with patients, playing cards, reading to them, listening to music together or sharing interests and life stories. Such simple activities can provide much-needed social stimulation and valuable respite for caregivers and family memberrs. Touching a life, easing someone's pain, the personal fulfillment of knowing you made a difference--can be life changing.

Volunteer Opportunities Include but are NOT Limited to:
Working directly with patients and their families, utilizing alternative methods of therapy including: Music Therapy, Art Therapy, Pet Therapy, and licensed cosmetologists to cut hair and/or paint nails.

Volunteers are placed with patients who live near them. Thorough training is provided. Make a real difference in our patients' lives and your own!

Administrative (clerical) volunteers also needed in our Dublin office (age 16 or older).
