About

Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan has offered end of life services for more than 35 years. Our community based, non-profit agency is committed to quality care. Clinical staff and volunteers work together on individualized plans of care assuring every client's unique needs are met.

We work with clients in their home albeit a private residence or specialized care facility. Volunteers may become a companion to the client helping to reduce isoloation, fear and lonliness. Respite services can allow a caregiver the peace of mind they need to leave the clients side and address

Volunteers are also needed to help with errands, assist with light housekeeping or offering occasional transportation.

Volunteers receive training to be successful and support as they work with clients. Backkground screening is required. Volunteers must have a valid driver's license and auto insurance, be willing to provide a minimum of a year commitment, and be at least 18 years old to serve. We also ask those who have experienced the death of someone close to wait a year before volunteering.
