Independence. You know what it is like to be independent - to be able to drive your car when you want, to go to the grocery store or out with friends. But have you ever thought about what it would be like to no longer be able to do all the things we take for granted?
There is a need for volunteers to help seniors and people with disabilities gain or maintain their independence. If you've ever had someone do something nice for you, then you know the good feeling you received from their kind gesture.
Give others this good feeling by helping them with every day tasks, take them to doctor's appointments, assist them in getting groceries, or simply spend time visiting with them.
Volunteers choose who they would like to help and how much time they have to share with others.
Volunteers enrolled with RSVP enjoy free supplemental accident, excess auto liability and personal liability insurance while volunteering, limited reimbursement for mileage (for those who might otherwise find it difficult to volunteer), recognition and annual volunteer celebration, a quarterly newsletter, and free membership in Rx Optical Vision Advantage Program.
