We need English-speaking volunteers from all over the World to come and help us with our volunteer English teaching program to help children/students improve their English language skills and give them the opportunity to improve their lives. Volunteers will help children/students with English pronunciation, communication and listening skills. In addition to this, you will help us hold extra curricular activities for them, which will assist in developing their language usage skills.

1. Teach English and living skills for immigrant children in outskirts of Hanoi

Dong Anh Dist., and Soc Son Dist., outskirts of Hanoi. The locality is in the process of urbanization, and as a result of the establishment of Thang Long Industrial Park, Quang Minh Industrial Park,... which leads to mass immigration from nearby rural provinces. Migrant workers accounted for more than half the total number of immigrants in Dong Anh Dist., and Soc Son Dist.,

The programme aims at providing the children with basic English lessons and other extra activities including drawing, music and physical activities in leisure time. The children have 1 - 3 class per day, 3 - 5 days per week, each class lasts for 1.0 - 1.5 hours per day.

Volunteers will be living in the CVTD’s volunteer house in Dong Anh District, 10km from Noi Bai International Airport and 15km from Hanoi Old Quarter.

Location: Dong Anh dist. / Soc Son dist., Hanoi, Vietnam

Help:

- Teaching English at kindergarten, primary and secondary schools on the outskirts of Hanoi.

- Training in English and career skills for students and youth workers in the Industrial Zone.

(*) Volunteers will do the following:
- Write/prepare the lesson plans for every week/month including teaching aids (materials), games, and activities...
- Teach the lessons.
- Collaborate with teaching assistant to manage the class.
- Give feedback and recommendation to management regarding students’ performance
- Give feedback and success stories on website about your experience volunteering with us.

Duration: From 02 weeks

Requirements:

- Volunteers who are fluent in English and have excellent pronunciation and communication skills with English as a second language
- Volunteer, who have teaching experience or have vast experience in volunteering in the field of education in different countries.

- Prioritize native English speakers.
- Strong inter-personal skills and experience in working with people, especially children and young adults.

- Have a laptop for teaching, slide, video, game,...

CVTD Fees: Management Fee is $50 non-refundable (bank transfer, after signed the contracting volunteers via email); and Program Fee is 10$ per day (less than 1 month), 7$ per day (1-3 months), 5$ per day (3-6 months), or free (more than 6 months)

Fees including:

1. Airport pick-up
2. Half-day cultural orientation; Full day Hanoi Old Quarter tour
3. Travel advice and assistance
4. Transportation to the service place through public bus or motorbike
5. Vietnamese food and accommodation
6. Sponsor the school fund & CVTD Social Fund
7. Administrator fee
8. Support, help and advice from our local team
9. 24 hour online emergency support
10. Participant certificate upon successful completion of the volunteer placement
11. Free access to Spa facilities of the residence
12. We have many travel and cultural exchange activities between volunteer, staff and student every weekend

2. Teaching English (Blended Learning Program) and travel experience in center of Hanoi.

CVTD Vietnam have the purpose of developing English as a "Second Language" to communities in major cities. We provide Community English classes - Blended Learning Program to local children (from 4 - 11 year old), youth and adults at beginner and intermediate levels, as well as a drop in conversation group to improving English skills for Vietnamese by mobilizing qualified Native English speakers to help our English class in Hanoi. Volunteers will teach English in kindergarten, community classes in urban areas, schools...

Location: Center of Hanoi, Vietnam

Help: Teaching English for children from 4 - 11 year old in around of center Hanoi, students and youth in coffee club.

3. Teaching English for rural/ethnic children, mountain area in Northern Vietnam.

Sapa (Lao Cai province) is a poor district in Northern Vietnam. Almost all of the local population are ethnic people, who are semi-illiterate and lack education. Most of these people are farmers with very low income, living in difficult conditions.

While they are not unaware that children have rights to basic to education, nutrition, etc to ensure normal human development, many children face great difficulty in education as their parents cannot afford to send them to a school. Large numbers of school-age kid drop out of school on completion of primary school because their parents feel it’s enough. In this context it is important to increase the English communication skills not only for children, but even for young and adults, who can use them to make cultural exchange with tourists deeper and to change their vision make better their own lives, too.

Lessons for poor people will be free of charge for all fees - school fee, books, notebooks & school supplies will depend on CVTD budget constraints. Because of this we would appreciate if volunteers would teach some extra classes to assist in fundraising for this activity.
