Emergency Needs Support Volunteers will assist the Community Relations Department with Food Pantry and Donation management. Emergency Needs Support volunteers help Walnut Avenue Family & Women's Center to provide support for basic needs such as food and clothing for participants in all of our programs. Tasks include the following;
-Organize shipment of food in our food pantry kitchen.
-Portion out bulk items such as beans and rice for weekly food bags.
-Prepare weekly food bags.
-Pass out weekly food bags to participants.
-Assist in keeping our donation barn organized (community members & local businesses give us donations of clothing and household items).
-Interact with community members who drop off donated items, thank them for their donation and write them a receipt.
-Help keep the donation room and food pantry kitchen clean.
