Newly arrived refugees have a number of appointments when they first arrive in Omaha. Refugees have no driver’s license, are unfamiliar with the area and local transportation systems, and need assistance with transportation to and from these appointments.
These appointments may include such things as medical appointments, job interviews, and grocery shopping.
As a volunteer you would be introduced to a variety of people and helping them with something important to their new lives in Omaha.
Requirements: Potential volunteers must pass a criminal background screen. Volunteers must also provide a valid driver's license and proof of insurance for a DMV check. This position is looking for volunteers available weekdays on a one-time, occasional, weekly, or monthly basis.
