Humane trapping

We humanely address pet overpopulation with TNR. We now have the opportunity to prevent countless litters at low cost, but, we need your help.

Our SpayNation center lies in Lafayette and many cat colonies in surrounding areas need birth control. Some are managed by elderly/disabled caretakers who could use a hand catching their wild cats in the evenings and getting them to us for sterilization in the early mornings. Afterward, cats are released back to their familiar habitats, free of the nuisance behaviors and health risks of remaining unaltered.

Simply put, you can help by picking up traps from our office (or using your own), setting them for people who need their outdoor cats fixed, collecting the cats you trap and driving them to and from surgery. You will have the satisfaction of knowing that you are practicing a non-lethal and cost-effective method of controlling pet overpopulation.

About Wild Cat Foundation, Inc.

Location:

Mission Statement

We endeavor to help in the management of numbers as well as to improve the quality of life for feral, stray and homeless cats in our area. We strive to promote the TNR protocol by providing guidance and low-cost spay and neuter services to local feral cat caregivers and qualified pet owners. We recognize that, when outdoor cats are relieved of the capacity for reproduction and its many related risks, they are then free to live out healthy and happy lives without becoming an ongoing strain on community resources.

Description

A 501(c)(3) all-volunteer non-profit animal rescue group incorporated in Lafayette, Louisiana with a focus on TNR: Trap-Neuter-Return, in which feral (wild) and other free-roaming cats are sterilized and returned to their original outdoor homes. We advocate this proven method of feline population control.
