OUR PATIENTS' CAREGIVERS NEED A BREAK!!
VITAS Hospice volunteers can choose from a variety of opportunities, including social visits to home care patients and nursing home patients, pet volunteers who make social visits to nursing home patients with the dog, respite care for caregivers(i.e. stay for a couple of hours with a patient while the caregiver takes a break), run errands for the patient/family, telephone assurance to patients , their caregivers or to bereaved survivors (this can be done from a volunteer's home), and hospital visitation at our Inpatient Unit. Volunteers are assigned based on their location preference, so we can keep you in your neighborhood or community if needed.

Volunteers are the heart of VITAS Healthcare(r), providing friendly, non-medical patient and family care and offering support services in the office, using their cars and from their own homes.
