The volunteer will be assisting the kindergarten teacher with students that are struggling to understand the curriculum and instructions. The volunteer will receive training in First Teacher reading, writing and math and will assist as the teacher requests. This position could be "One on One", or within a small group, reading to the child, doing math games, etc.
At a WCSD school site. The volunteer is given a choice of location, North, South, East or West.
To be dependable and flexible, following the directions/guidance of a teacher as help is needed for a student (s), in order to intervene when needed.
Must like working with young children, physically able to bend and move to accommodate active young children, be flexible and dependable. Volunteers Bilingual in Spanish, familiar with the school environment or having had previous tutoring experience is desired.
