ORGANIZATION: Youth Engagement Advocacy Housing (YEAH!)

Come volunteer with YEAH! (Youth Engagement Advocacy Housing), Berkeley's only shelter for transitional age youth (18-25). We assist young people who are currently homeless by providing basic relief from the stress of living on the street. We are also dedicated to co-creating a community of mutual support and respect.

We need early morning volunteers to help cook, set up and serve breakfast, and assist staff in wake up and maintaining the shelter space. These positions are from 6:30-8:30 AM. YEAH! seeks to build a community that transforms and changes lives--not only the lives of the youth staying here, but also the lives of the volunteers and staff. Our shelter is open from November until Mid-May, and we are looking for volunteers who can commit to a consistent shift through out the rest of this 6 month period. We ask that morning volunteers commit to one shift per week, but if you are unable we are willing to work with your schedule.

We also require every volunteer to go through a training before they begin working at YEAH! The training is only about 1.5 hr. Please respond to this post to find out when the next scheduled training is.
