Do you enjoy friendly conversation and the idiosyncrasies of the Spanish language? If so, we need enthusiastic individuals to facilitate our conversation club!
Importance of Position: Assist library staff by facilitating the Spanish Conversation Club and speaking with individuals who are seeking to practice their Spanish language skills.
Qualifications:
- Speak Spanish
- Knowledge of Spanish beneficial but not required
- Be friendly and supportive
- Willingness and ability to plan the club’s activities
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the Spanish Conversation Club
- Increase the learner’s awareness of American culture and encourage learning about other cultures.
- Share information about library services, programs, and use of resources.
Training Provided: Orientation to the library as well as brief specific training about the Spanish Conversation Club.
Benefits of Supporting the Library as a Volunteer:
- Satisfaction of providing much-needed support and service
- Meet new people and help others
Time Commitment: The club meets every week for one hour (during the specific months determined by the library each year).
Length of Commitment: Minimum 6-month commitment. Provide to the volunteer supervisor sufficient notice if unable to keep shift assignment.
Grounds for Termination: Failure to carry out assigned responsibilities. Breach of confidentiality.

The St. Helena Public Library is a one facility municipal library serving the City of St. Helena and surrounding areas. We are located in the Napa Valley but we are not part of the Napa City-County Library System. We are part of SPLASH, a Solano & St. Helena libraries partnership.
