Often we have animals with special needs who need in-home foster care before they become available for adoption. This includes litters of puppies or kittens with or without mothers, very young animals who require bottle feeding, animals recovering from injury or illness, and occasionally adult animals that aren't doing well under shelter conditions and need a calm, loving temporary home. Foster volunteers must fill out a foster application and be approved, then will be added to our pool of volunteers and will be contacted based upon the volunteer's indicatation on the application regarding which types of cases they'll foster and for how long. Fostering can range from one night to several weeks.
